STOCKS: The major regional equity indices have moved lower in Asia-Pac hours,
with little in the way of appetite evident for risk assets during Asia hours in
the wake of a downtick in the major U.S. equity benchmarks during Wall St.
trade.
- Caution allowed the major U.S. equity index futures to breach their respective
Tuesday lows, but there has been little in the way of follow through after the
initial jolt, with the contracts now trading off worst levels of the day (albeit
still below yesterday's lows)
- The Hang Seng was the underperformer, with participants clearly unimpressed by
the latest gov't offering re: economic support.
- Elsewhere, there was a lot of focus on Texas Instrument's sub-par guidance
that was given after hours in the U.S.
- Nikkei 225 unch., Hang Seng -1.0%, CSI 300 -0.2%, ASX 200 -0.3%.
- S&P 500 futures -9, DJIA futures -72, NASDAQ 100 futures -28.
