KIWI: The NZD has edged higher against the greenback in early dealing, with
NZDUSD last trading at 0.7025. The NZD has also outperformed the AUD, with
AUDNZD last 20 pips lower at 1.0715.
- Focus this week will fall on the RBNZ's latest MonPol decision on Thursday &
RBNZ inflation exp. data on Tuesday.
- NZDUSD's correcting oversold studies appear to be impacting with bounces from
ahead of the 2018 low continuing on Friday. Bulls now need a close above hourly
support from 25 April (0.7102) to initially target a correction back to
0.7157-0.7198 with the 200-DMA at 0.7162. Bears now look for a close below the
YtD low (0.6983) to reconfirm immediate focus lower.
- AUDNZD bulls take comfort in support continuing to emerge on dips back towards
the 55-DMA (1.0663). Bears continue to look for a close below the 55-DMA to gain
breathing room and below the high from April 17 (1.0601) to shift focus lower.
