GILT SUMMARY: The UK government has released 25 (from a total of 84) Brexit
impact papers today detailing contingency plans. Secretary of State for Exiting
the European Union Dominic Raab has just finished fielding questions following
the release
- There has been limited response from gilts thus far.
- Gilt yields have ticked marginally higher since the open. The benchmark 2-year
gilt trades at 0.720% from 0.707%, while the 10-year trades at 1.276% from
1.258%.
- The curve has steepened slightly with the 2s10s spread widening to 54.9bps
from 53.7bps.
- The benchmark 5-year CDS trades at 57bps while 5- and 10-year inflation
breakevens are holding steady around 3%.
- The CBI Retailing Reported Sales data for August came in stronger than
expected at 29 vs 13 survey.
