GOLD: The yellow metal opened in NY at the $1278.20 level and was relatively
muted for the first hour of the session until a Politico source story saying
that "Yellen was out of the race" BBG. The price dropped to fresh session lows
of $1272.74 before bouncing in reaction to another Politico senior source saying
"its not safe to assume Fed nominations just down to Taylor and Powell, Trump
changes his mind everyday"
A sharp spike in bullion, following the USD coming under pressure across the
board and US tsys yields dropping sharply witnessed the rate jump from $1275.61
to $1279.90 before losing momentum and slipping back.
The precious metal came under renewed pressure, following broad based
dollar demand, in reaction to the US house clearing the way for the Republican
tax bill. The price fell to session lows of $1271.96.
The USD gained more ground towards the NY close, with the PM breaking the
resistance at $1270.00 and printing 3 week lows of $1266.00.
