GILT SUMMARY: There are unconfirmed reports that UK PM Theresa May will delay
the planned 'meaningful vote' in parliament following efforts to secure fresh
concessions from Brussels in a bid to avoid a damaging defeat.
- Gilt yields had been drifting lower since the open and have rallied sharply
since 1115GMT. The very long-end has outperformed on the day, with the 30-year
benchmark yield trading down to 1.7599% from a high of 1.8168%.
- The curve has flattened slightly with the 2s10s spread narrowing to 106.8bps
from a high of 108.99bps.
- Inflation breakevens have inched up with the 5-year benchmark trading at
3.199% from a low of 3.186%.
- Cable has fallen following the delayed vote rumours and currently trades at
1.2672.
- Short sterling futures are broadly 0.5-4.5 ticks higher with greens/blues
seeing the largest price action.
