CHINA PRESS: There will be no rating on the $2 billion in U.S. dollar bonds the
China government is expected to issue soon in Hong Kong, and there is no need
for a rating, Lian Ping, chief economist at Bank of Communications, said on
Tuesday, according to the financial website FX168. Lian said he expects demand
for the bonds to be strong, proving that the recent ratings downgrade of China
by both Moody's and Standard and Poor's was misjudged. The Ministry of Finance
is holding a roadshow on the bonds today in Hong Kong. (FX168)
