Tight Re-Open, Focus On The Antipodes

MARKET TALK

A sedate re-open for core global markets, with tight ranges witnessed in the major G10 FX crosses, T-Notes and e-minis, as participants await the next catalyst to assess their convictions.

  • Regional focus on Wednesday will fall on an address from RBNZ Governor Orr, where he will discuss the monetary policy response to COVID-19 - during and following the immediate shock. The speech was only announced on Monday, which has got some tongues wagging re: the potential content. Elsewhere, participants will look to the Q2 GDP print out of Australia, although this is of course a look in the rear-view mirror, with policymakers already noting that things aren't as bad as they could have been.
