FOREX
FOREX: Today's Asia-Pacific session proved relatively uneventful, with G10 pairs
sticking to fairly tight ranges. Market closures in China and Japan continued to
limit activity.
- AUD emerged as the worst G10 performer, following the release of disappointing
building approvals data from Australia. This came after AUD ignored the releases
of domestic AiG & CBA services PMI readings.
- JPY crosses had edged lower initially, but erased most of their earlier losses
as U.S. equity-index futures posted an uptick.
- KRW extended its recent losses, with USD/KRW topping out at KRW1171.75, a
level not seen since early 2017.
- U.S. nonfarm payrolls, EZ CPI data, UK & U.S. services PMIs and Norwegian
unemployment take focus today. ECB's Weidmann & Enria will make addresses. Fed's
Evans will speak in Stockholm, while a number of his Fed colleagues will appear
on a conference held by the Hoover Institution.
