Tokyo May Extend Overnight Downtick In Futures

JGBS

JGB futures shed a mere 7 ticks in overnight dealing, going out at worst levels of the session after unwinding the early post-Tokyo uptick. Note there was a much more aggressive sell off seen in the U.S. Tsy space, which drove the cheapening in JGB futures. Participants may decide to push the cheapening envelope further at the Tokyo re-open, although the closure of the U.S. Tsy space for the elongated Easter weekend will limit wider liquidity.

  • There isn’t anything in the way of notable domestic risk events to flag, with the previously outlined PBoC matters set to dominate headline flow ahead of the weekend.
