Trade Balance Data Scheduled

  • Argentina will publish trade balance data that will help investors gauge hard currency inflows and the impact of galloping inflation on consumers in South America’s second largest economy.
  • Argentina’s local debt swap on June 22 will seek to reduce its holdings of local bonds with maturities coming due at the end of the month, Juan Manuel Truppia, head of trading for TPCG Valores, said.
  • Economy ministry is offering a swap of Treasury instruments to achieve its end-of-month rollover target more comfortably and may reduce average maturities to less than half, Truppia told Bloomberg News in a Coffee with Traders event via Twitter Spaces.
  • Reducing maturities would help ease pressure on the central bank.
