At least two LNG vessels are waiting outside Belgium’s Zeebrugge to receive cargoes from Russia’s Yamal LNG as transshipments rise ahead of the EU banaccording to Bloomberg ship-tracking.

  • The Wen Cheng and Gui Ying vessels both arrived from China but the destinations after loading are not known.
  • The Clean Planet already received one transshipment in Belgium earlier this month, taking a cargo originating from Yamal on to Southeast Asia.
  • Zeebrugge had one Yamal transshipment per month in November-January, Bloomberg said.
  • A European Union ban on the transhipment operations for Russian LNG cargoes in European ports comes into force next month from March 26.
