US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are a bit weaker early Friday, on low volumes (Sep
TYs ~172k contracts traded as of 0648ET) and rangebound trading. No impactful
data, though a fairly busy slate of Fed speakers lies ahead.
- Curve a touch steeper: 2-Yr yield is down 0.2bps at 0.1916%, 5-Yr is up 0.5bps
at 0.3378%, 10-Yr is up 0.8bps at 0.7167%, and 30-Yr is up 1.4bps at 1.4957%.
- Sep 10-Yr futures (TY) down 6/32 at 138-20.5 (L: 138-17.5 / H: 138-25).
- It is quadruple witching (equity futures & options expiry) day but that hasn't
produced many fireworks so far.
- Boston Fed's Rosengren appears at 1015ET, VC Quarles at 1200ET, and finally
Chair Powell closes out the week alongside Cleveland's Mester at 1300ET.
- A very slow day in data (Q1 current account figures).
- NYFed buys $12.8bln in short-end Tsys.
