US TSY FLOWS: *** Treasuries saw dip buying after the morning slide on technical
selling, firmer US$/yen and related black box sales in Tsy intermediates. Tsys
also saw some long liquidations too in Tsys futures and shorts in the front end
and long end. There are better corporate-tied buyers in Tsys, said traders.
- "The market now is trying to stabilize," said one trader, who cited the "mixed
bag" of bearish influences in today's selloff.
- And Tsy futures had 9:49 am ET apparent sale of 5,000 TYZ 10Y Futures at
125-10, and a burst of 45,000 sold from 125-10 to 125-07.5 prior to 8:55 am ET.
Also was sale of 9,600 FVZ 5Y Tsy futures at 117-10.5 at 8:31am ET. Eurodlr
futures had a pre-8:44am ET sale of 35,000 EDZ7 sold at 98.49-98.585.
- Meanwhile traders asked when Fed Chair Yellen meets with US Pres. Trump
Thursday. Our DC staff said it was not known which time, but a clue might be
found 11pm ET Wed when Pres. Trump Thursday schedule will be posted on the
official website.
- Tsys had rate-lock hedges earlier amid moderate corporate bond issuance; some
could have unwound later.
