Trudeau To Unveil Major Cabinet Rejig Tuesday

The Globe & Mail reports that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau will unveil a major shake-up of his Cabinet and senior advisory team on Tuesday.

  • Sources told the newspaper that some of the most high-profile ministers are expected to be replaced, which includes changes in the health-defence and environment portfolios.
  • Veteran Liberal MP Garneau is expected to be removed from the Global Affairs portfolio, reportedly because of the need to make room for new faces.
  • Defence Minister Sajjan will be offered a new portfolio amid controversy surrounding sexual harassment incidents in the military.
  • Health Minister Hajdu will also get a new job and the Health Department will be split with a second minister added.
