TTF Losses Earlier Gains as Norway Maintenance Adjusted

NATURAL GAS

TTF front month is back trading near flat on the with disrupted Norwegian maintenance and cool weather in NW Europe.

  • Some Norwegian maintenance has been cut short or pushed back because of Norwegian industry strikes. Kollsnes maintenance will end eight days earlier than planned by tomorrow, and some works at Troll are delayed until next week. Oil and gas production is unaffected by the strikes.
  • Norwegian supply outages had helped push TTF up to a high of 42.4€/MWh earlier today.
  • The return of some industrial gas usage is supporting prices but the resumption has been slow and many factories remain shut. While industry is “showing signs of recovery, driven by refining and petrochemical sectors, potential permanent ammonia production loss means we may be overestimating industrial demand this year,” according to Energy Aspects last week. They added that power stations are also unlikely to shift heavily to using gas again.
    • TTF MAY 23 down -0.1% at 41.12€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 23 down -0.1% at 56.03€/MWh
    • TTF SUM 24 up 0.1% at 54.3€/MWh
