Turkish Firm Plans 500MW of Serbian Wind

Turkish renewable developer Fortis Energy will build 509MW of wind in Serbia, with the projects expected to be finalised by the end of 2028, according to the firm, cited by RenewablesNow.

  • The capacity will come from the 194.4MW Gornjak, 144MW Juhor and 171MW Vranje wind farms.
  • The units will be installed in the south-central and southern parts of the country.
  • The plants are anticipated to produce 1.5 TWh/yr once operational, according Fortis.
  • Battery storage units will also be installed by the wind farms.
  • Separately, the firm is also planning to install 500MW of solar in the country.
