Turkmenistan To Raise Gas Exports To China To 65bcm/year

Turkmenistan is planning to raise its natural gas exports to China to 65bcm per year, including 25bcm per year via the future Line D of its gas link to China, Batyr Amanov, State Minister and Chairman of Turkmengas, said.

  • Turkmenistan aims to send as much as 25bcm per year via the future Line D of its gas link to China. The pipeline is eyed to be operational by 20230.
  • Additional gas is set to come from the giant Galkynysh gas field. Turkmenistan is also working on the project to send as much as 33bcm per year of Galkynysh gas via the future TAPI gas link across Afghanistan and Pakistan toward India.
  • China is estimated to have imported 23.03mn tons of gas from Turkmenistan in the first eleven months of 2022, marking the country as China’s largest piped natural gas exporter.
