Uniper Eyes 50MW Battery Storage System

German multinational energy company Uniper will build a 50MW battery storage system at its 875MW Heyden hard coal plant, the firm said today.

  • The unit will be able to store about 100MWh of power.
  • It will be operational in 2025.
  • Uniper is aiming to be completely carbon-neutral by 2040 and is targeting its installed power generating capacity to be more than 80% zero-carbon by 2030.
