/US: Biden To Visit Poland On February 20-22, Warsaw Asks For Permanent NATO Bases

U.S. President Joe Biden will visit Poland on February 20-22, White House spokesperson confirmed on Friday night, noting that the POTUS will meet with his local counterpart Andrzej Duda, as well as with other the leaders of "Bucharest Nine" member states.

  • Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Arkadiusz Mularczyk suggested that Warsaw is asking the U.S. President to announce the establishment of permanent NATO military bases in Poland.
  • Mularczyk refused to provide any further details and told PR24 radio that he doesn't want to "anticipate" Biden's comments, with the U.S. President set to "announce certain plans here."
  • U.S. National Security Council spokesperson noted that Biden "wants to talk about the importance of the international community's resolve and unity in supporting Ukraine" ahead of the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.
