US CPI: Car Prices Continue To Soar, Other Reopening Segments Soften

Among the pandemic reopening categories: Used car prices continued to pick up (+10.5%) despite some expectations that they would flatten out in June. New car prices picked up again (+1.9% vs 1.6% prior) and Lodging jumped back to +7.9% (+0.4% May). Airfares (+2.7% vs 7.0% prior) and vehicle rentals (+5.2% vs +12.1% prior) did cool, however.
