US Henry Hub Pulls Back to Hold Within Recent Range

NATGAS

US Henry Hub is pulling back towards recent lows as front month bounces between about 2.16$/mmbtu and 2.31$/mmbtu since 20 April. Strong supplies and high seasonal storage levels are limiting upside moves while LNG export flows are gradually trending higher despite daily variations to add price support.

    • US Natgas MAY 23 down -4.2% at 2.21$/mmbtu
  • Pipeline feedgas flows to LNG export terminals have average 14.09bcf/d so far in April compared to 13.13bcf/d in March. Supply has dipped this week to 13.64bcf/d today due to a drop in supply to Corpus Christi LNG and Sabine Pass LNG.
  • The US weather forecast shows cold in eastern areas and above normal in the west in the 6-10 day period but shows cold weather creeping in to the far west coast in the 8-14 day period. Domestic demand is again above normal today at 71.0bcf/d compared to the seasonal normal of around 64bcf/d.
  • Natural gas production was back down to 100.7bcf/d yesterday after reaching a high of 101.7bcf/d over the weekend compared to the average of 100.5bcf/d so far this month.
  • Exports to Mexico are unchanged from yesterday at around 5.9bcf/d today.
