US LNG More Profitable To Asia Amid TTF Price Slump

US LNG exports are currently more profitable to Asia in October, November and December as of 24 August, following a sharp decline in TTF gas prices according to BNEF.

  • Netbacks have been volatile amid uncertainty over industrial action in Australia and maintenance in Norway. Yesterday’s prices favored cargoes to Europe over Asia during Q4.
  • The US LNG netback to Europe is currently $8.00/MMBtu for October, down 20% from Aug. 23, when it was $9.98/MMBtu.
  • The US LNG netback to Asia is currently $8.13/MMBtu for October, down 18% from Aug. 23, when it was $9.96/MMBtu.
  • TTF SEP 23 down -12.5% at 32.2€/MWh
  • JKM-TTF Sep 23 down -0.5$/mmbtu at 1.47$/mmbtu
