US Proposes G7 Explore Seizing $300bln of Russian Assets - FT

  • The US proposes that working groups from the G7 countries examine the possibility to seize $300bln in frozen Russian assets, the Financial Times reports, citing unidentified people familiar with the matter.
  • Gas production in Russia has been growing in annual terms for the fourth month in a row, but only due to the low base effect, Kommersant write. In November, Russia produced almost 60bcm of gas, which is 6.4% more than a year earlier.
  • Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will give an interview to Rossiya 24 at 0830GMT/1130 local time, according to Interfax. The Bank of Russia will report weekly gold and forex reserve data this afternoon. CPI data and GDP data is on the docket tomorrow.
