USD Bond Yields, 5Y CDS Ease as Oil Recedes Back to $100/bbl

  • Local & USD rates open mixed to firmer with USD bond yields bull flattening slightly.
  • Yesterday’s session saw yields on both curves falling with USD bonds outperforming on the back of softer oil prices – with pressures easing somewhat for Turkey.
  • USD yields fell -26.7-36.1bp across the curve with 3Y yields most bid, while TurkGB yields declined -1-11bp on the day.
  • W/w both the USD & TurkGB curves have made gains with the former bull steepening and the latter Bull flattening.
  • Credit default swaps also eased (-34bp) on falling oil prices and signs of progress in Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
