DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last C$1.3246 after the pair traded in a ~55 pip range
Wednesday, closing almost unchanged as CAD garnered some strength from the
uptick in oil prices, which ended WTI's 12-day losing streak. Crude futures
climbed as RTRS reported OPEC+ is discussing a deeper cut than exp.
- The rate spiked after BBG cited a senior Democratic Representative saying that
Trump's trade deal with Mexico & Canada, set to be signed at the G20 summit at
the end of the month, must be revised to pass the Democratic-controlled House.
- However, USD/CAD erased those gains later in the day, following the broader
gyrations in the DXY thereafter.
- Bulls seek a move through C$1.3264, where the rate peaked yesterday & Tuesday.
Conversely, bears need a break below yesterday's lows of C$1.3208 before
shifting their focus to the Nov 12 low at C$1.3183.
- Canadian m'fing sales will hit the wires later today, otherwise this week's
docket is rather thin.
