DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last dealing 15 pips or so higher at C$1.3590, with WTI
crude last dealing $0.35 or so lower & U.S. index futures also trading lower on
the day.
- This comes after the rate shed 20 or so pips Wednesday as crude & U.S. stocks
rallied hard.
- Bulls look for a clean break above C$1.3600, which would allow them to look to
the 61.8% retracement of the move from C$1.4690 to C$1.2062 at C$1.3686. Bears
look for a break below C$1.3500, followed by the Dec 21 low at C$1.3493.
- With a near empty Canadian docket apparent this week, the rate is set to be
driven by broader risk appetite & oil price dynamics.
