USD Firms Marginally, RBNZ Up Soon

FOREX

The USD has firmed marginally in recent dealings, although more so against AUD and NZD. USD/JPY is holding steady near 151.75/80. The BBDXY sits a touch above earlier lows, last at 1240.80, unchanged for the session.

  • AUD/USD is off around 0.15%, last near at 0.6620, while NZD/USD has eased back to 0.6055/60. Earlier highs in the pair were at 0.6068. The RBNZ decision is due in around 10mins.
  • The AUD/NZD cross is back to 1.0930, with NZD outperforming AUD marginally.
  • There doesn't appear to be an obvious catalyst for these moves. China equities have opened modestly weaker, but Hong Kong equities are in positive territory. US yields sit down a touch, versus being up in earlier trade, but overall moves are modest.
