USD/JPY Rebounds On Matsuno Comments

USD/JPY has spiked after Japan Cabinet Secretary Matsuno stated there are no plans to revise the joint accord with the BoJ. The pair was around session lows just under 135.80, but then spiked to 136.30 post the comments before selling interest emerged. We last tracked in the 136.10/15 region.

  • This follows an earlier Reuters report which stated the government would consider revising the accord next year (post the appointment of a new BoJ Governor), although no consensus has been reached within the government yet.
