DOLLAR-YEN
DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY registered losses yesterday, despite an early uptick which
culminated in a rejection of the Y108.00 mark. Subsequent losses took the pair
to the intraday low of Y107.34, printed after the WMR fix, but a gentle recoil
seen late doors allowed USD/JPY to trim losses.
- The rate last sits +5 pips at Y107.57 and a jump above May 19 high of Y108.09
would bring Apr 10 low of Y108.59 into play. Bears see May 19 low of Y107.30 as
their initial target and a fall below there would clear the way to May 13 low of
Y106.74, a key near-term support.
- NHK reported that Japan may have omitted ~40 people from its early May
coronavirus case count.
- Japan's trade balance & Jibun Bank M'fing PMI will be published on Thursday,
with national CPI due on Friday.
