DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USDCAD holds towards the lower end of its C$1.3211-44 daily range
ahead of Canadian jobs data at the bottom of the hour. The rate earlier breached
its short-term channel base which comes in today at C$1.3227. A close below
would cement the downtrend, opening the 50-dma at C$1.3193, ahead of the Aug 5
low at C$1.3178. It is also worth noting of Wednesday's bearish shooting star
candle pattern & recent bearish MA crossover (100 below 200).
- RBC economists expect a below consensus 5K increase in employment in July,
which would be the second consecutive sub-trend outcome after a 2.2K decline in
June.
