US Trade Representative General Counsel Greta Peisch states that 'US is likely to take months on the China tariff four-year review.' States that 'a possible tariff exclusion process will occur during the review'.
- Peisch: 'US must be realistic as what to expect from China.'
- Peisch speaking on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) at an event states that the US 'seeks to boost market access through non-tariff means'.
- The IPEF was announced earlier this week on a trip US President Joe Biden made to Asia. The loose grouping will initially include Australia, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
- Ther intention of the group, at least at the beginning of its existence, is to boost ties between nations through common standards throughout various economic sectors.
