Valero to Ramp Up Fuel Exports to Mexico With New Terminal

Valero expects to ramp up fuel exports to Mexico later this year with the startup of the new 1.1mn barrels oil terminal in Altamira, the firm said during the Q1 earnings call.

  • In Q1, Valero exported 103kbpd of gasoline, 153kbd of diesel and 25kbpd of jet fuel to Mexico, the firm said.
  • The Altamira terminal was previously expected to be completed in mid-2023 and is now scheduled to be operational later this year.
  • Valero is currently working on obtaining permits for another terminal near the city of Guadalajara with a capacity of 505k barrels, it said.
