Venture Global Agrees LNG Supply Deal to Ukraine with DTEK

Venture Global has signed a non-binding agreement to supply LNG to D. Trading, the commercial arm of Ukraine power producer DTEK, from its Plaquemines and CP2 export projects in the US.

  • LNG will be supplied from Plaquemines LNG, under construction in Louisiana, from this year to 2026.
  • Venture Global will also supply up to 2mtpa to D. Trading for 20 years from the proposed CP2 project.
  • CP2 is still awaiting approval after the Biden administration’s decision to pause approvals of new LNG export permits earlier this year.
  • Ukraine has no existing LNG terminals and would therefore require access to third-party infrastructure elsewhere in Europe.
