Verde Asset Management Adds To Receiver Positions In Swaps

  • Verde Asset Management says it has gradually increased receiver positions in Brazilian swap rates as it is seeing an interesting asymmetry arising from both global dynamics and local noise.
  • Verde notes that local assets have become cheaper even as the economic backdrop has improved and inflation remains well behaved. At the same time, Verde sees plenty of local noise, arising from different sources including from interference in the management of SOE’s, which present opportunities.
  • In this context, it is worth noting that Brazil March IPCA data will be published tomorrow, with analysts expecting the annual rate of inflation to decline notably to 4.01% y/y, from 4.50% previously. This would be the lowest rate of inflation since July last year.
