The counting of votes cast in two parliamentary by-elections in Wakefield and Tiverton & Honiton is ongoing, with latest reports suggesting that the Wakefield result is expected around 04:00 BST and possibly as early as 03:30 BST.
- A Labour source in Wakefield told PA agency that "the early signs are very positive and suggest that lifelong Tory voters and those we lost in 2019 are voting Labour - showing the progress we've made." Both polls and bookmakers predicted that Labour would reclaim the seat they lost to the Tories in 2019.
- Commenting on the Tiverton & Honiton race, BBC reporter Lewis Goodall tweets that Liberal Democrats "know they've won. All about the margin and the swing now." LibDem Leader is also suggesting that their candidate is pulling ahead in a tweet that refers to the party's victory in the Chesham and Amersham by-election.
