UK DATA: Wage Growth Disappoints Despite Strong Employment Gains
- UK Oct-Dec total earnings +2.9% vs +3.2% Sept-Nov

Wage growth decelerated in the final 3 months opf the year, falling well 
below market expectations, to the slowest pace since June-August 2018. 
The data coincide with a marked trend of confirming the Bank of 
England's belief that the absence of wage pressures owes "the current 
composition of employment," particularly the movement of long-term 
unemployed into relatively low-paying roles. Total public sector wages 
rose by 3.3%, outpacing the private sector (+2.7%) for the second 
straight overlapping three-month period.
