STOCKS: Weekend developments re: the U.S.-China trade war "truce" that came
about on the sidelines of the weekend's G20 meeting drove equity price action in
early dealing this week.
- Chinese & Hong Kong shares outperformed, as they unwound some of their trade
war related discount, with the CSI 300 adding 3.1% & the Hang Seng adding 2.7%
in their respective morning sessions.
- Elsewhere, the Nikkei 225 added 1.3% & the ASX 200 added 1.7%.
- Looking to U.S. equity index futures, it was the NASDAQ that led the way in
terms of % gains, when compared to the S&P 500 & DJIA, adding over 2.0%, with
Dow futures just shy of 500 points higher at writing & the e-mini S&P trading
back above 2,800.
