Westpac Card Tracking Index Eases, Still Firm

AUSTRALIA

Westpac note that “the Westpac Card Tracker Index declined 7.4pts to 106 over the week to March 26. Despite the drop, the March month is still tracking an average read of 109 - a strong result given shocks from the war in Ukraine and severe weather events. Current reads mean annual growth in card activity is tracking 6pts above its pre-COVID pace.”
