- The Jan23 Brent options are due to expire today against the future close price at 18:30GMT. Current open interest shows the biggest nearby strike of note is in the 85$/bbl put options.
- The ICE commitment of traders reports will be released after the close today at 18:30GMT and with the Nymex data delayed until Monday due to the US holiday. Crude oil managed money net long positions fell back last week after a gradual increase since July. Positions have pulled back with uncertainty over the impact of the oil price cap on Russian crude supplies and with Chinese oil demand looking weaker due to rising covid restrictions.
