ENERGY
- The latest Baker Hughes rig count data is due for release at 18:00GMT. The oil rig count last week was the lowest since September at 599 as drilling has slowed in response to the fall in prices since the middle of 2022. The gas rig count which has seen a recovery in recent weeks was at 158 last week.
- The ICE and Nymex commitment of traders reports are due for release after the close today at 18:30BST and 15:30EST. The market positioning data was delayed last week due to an ongoing issue with a third-party service provider preventing some clearing members from provide data to the CFTC. It is not yet clear if the problem has been resolved and if the data will be published as scheduled.
