  • Tsys firmer, inside overnight range on moderate futures volumes (TYZ3<330k) as markets await Sep CPI data and weekly claims at 0830ET.
  • Ex-food and energy (core) CPI is expected to print 0.3% M/M in September for the 2nd month in a row, still firmly higher than the unrounded 0.16% M/M readings in both June and July but well below 0.42% pace in the first 5 months of 2023.
  • Headline CPI is expected to print 0.3% M/M, a deceleration from the energy-led jump up to 0.6% in August.
  • Scheduled Fed speak unlikely to make waves during the NY session as Dallas Fed Logan, Atl Fed Bostic both make opening remarks (no Q&A) at separate events (1000ET and 1300ET respectively). Boston Fed Collins will attend a banking conference, moderated Q&A later this afternoon at 1600ET.
  • US Treasury auctions: $95B 4W, $85B 8W Bill auctions at 1130ET, $20B 30Y Bond reopen follows at 1300ET.
