What to Watch: IEA Report and Stock Data

ENERGY
  • IEA are due to release the updated Oil Market Report at 10:00BST. The update follows on from the lower demand forecasts by OPEC and EIA in their monthly reports yesterday.
  • The latest EIA weekly gas inventories for the week ending Oct 7 will be released this afternoon at 15:30BST. The expectation is for another strong build of 126bcf with production still high. Last week saw a build of +129bcf and the 5-year average for this time of year is +94bcf.
  • The day delayed EIA weekly petroleum inventory data is due for release this afternoon at 16:00BST. API data last night showed a big build in crude, a build in gasoline and draw in distillates but expectation is for the EIA data to show a small build in crude and product draws.
  • The updated Insights Global European ARA product inventories will be released today. ARA Gasoil stocks were well below normal at 1.841m mt last week compared to the 5-year average of 2.64m mt. ARA Gasoline stocks were last week up at 1.27m mt compared to an average of 0.98m mt for this time of year.
