Woodside Ships First Direct LNG Cargo From Australia To EU

Woodside Energy Group has shipped its first direct LNG to Europe from Australia's North West Shelf project, the company said.

  • The cargo delivered 100mcm of gas on 27 Nov to Uniper at the terminal on Maasvlakte, Rotterdam.
  • Almost all Australian LNG is shipped to Asia, with some shipments to South America.
  • "We continue to work on securing the much needed gas supply into Europe from reliable sources like Australia and thus helping to strengthen security of supply during the ongoing crisis triggered by the Russian war," Uniper's Director LNG Andreas Gemballa said in a joint statement with Woodside.
