Workers For Chile's Escondida Mine Accept BHP's Offer

  • Members of one of the main unions at the Escondida copper mine in Chile voted in favour of owner BHP’s latest proposal, avoiding planned strikes for Monday and Wednesday.
    • Details of the new offer workers agreed to on Monday were not immediately available.
  • Thursday will see economic activity data for October cross the wires, however next Wednesday’s CPI data for November will remain in focus as a further softening in the data will likely ramp up expectations of the BCCh needing to cut rates early next year.
