ZDF: AZ Committed 80-100mn COVID-19 Vaccine Doses To EU In Q121

Stefan Leifert at ZDF tweets: "According to ZDF information, these are the quantities to which AstraZeneca has committed itself in its vaccine contract with the EU: - 30 to 40 million doses by the end of 2020 - 80 to 100 million doses in the first quarter of 2021"

  • There numbers had been redacted in the advance purchase agreement signed by the EU Commission and AstraZeneca released earlier today.
  • The 60% shortfall initially described by AZ would see the EU's number of doses in Q1 decline to 32-40mn doses.
  • As of 28 January, the EU as a whole has administered 10.47mn doses across the bloc.
