CHINA
CHINA: (2/3) Outside of Wuhan, official reports have noted that Chinese listed
companies in parts of Hubei province gradually started to resume production from
Tuesday. The Shanghai Securities Journal highlighted that some companies in
Wuhan have also resumed operation on a small scale.
- The revocation of traffic restrictions hasn't been one-way. Wednesday saw
Qianjiang City, in Hubei province, note that it will continue with strict
transportation bans, revoking a policy of relaxation that was announced only a
day before.
- Remember, Xi himself noted that the task of epidemic control was still
arduous, and prevention remained the top priority. Xi also pointed to the need
for phased resumption of activity.
- Further afield, while weekday traffic flow in the likes of Beijing, Shanghai &
Shenzhen has at least partially normalised, weekend flows remain suppressed,
pointing to an "only going out if you have to" mantra.
