CHINA: Accusations of China stealing intellectual property and forcing foreign
companies to transfer technology are groundless, said Wang Shouwen, deputy head
of the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.
  - At a press conference held to iterate China's support for multilateral trade
systems, led by the World Trade Organization, Wang disagreed that China's lack
of IP protection led to trade disputes with trading partners such as the U.S.;
  - The "Made In China 2025" initiative is only an open and transparent
guideline that also welcomes the participation of foreign investors: Wang;
  - Other countries should "do right thing" to support free trade and make
global trade more convenient, Wang urged;
  - Other countries should use domestic national security laws cautiously, said
Wang;
  - WTO's system to tackle trade disputes for its member countries needs to be
protected, Wang said, adding that discussions on WTO reforms are in the early
stages.
