Al Zour Refinery to Take ~10 Days to Fully Restart

Kuwait’s 615kbd Al Zour refinery is restarting slowly after shutting down completely when the fuel gas feed from Kuwait Oil was cut off according to an announcement by the compnay on X Sunday.

  • The refinery was “exposed to a sudden interruption of fuel gas supplies due to a malfunction in one of the main valves of Kuwait Oil Co.,” KIPIC said Sunday. “This led to a near-complete halt of production operations.”
  • Previous production capacity is expected to return in ~10 days.
  • KIPIC said “All precautionary measures are undertaken to prevent the disruption of low-sulfur fuel supply to power and water plants, as well as the disruption of export operations for refinery products.”
