OIL

Alberta’s oil production fell to three-month low in September amid a fall in synthetic crude due to upgrader maintenance according to Alberta Energy Regulator data.

  • Total oil output from the region dipped down to 3.55m b/d from 3.56m b/d in August
  • Production from oil sands upgraders fell to the lowest since April 2017 falling by 22% to 756k b/d. Synthetic crude is produced by running oil sands through an upgrader.
