AMLO's Mild Symptoms Remain

MEXICO

A rebound in the USD overnight has seen the Bloomberg Dollar Index (+0.3%) reverse yesterdays losses. The Peso performed well yesterday, potentially being dragged higher by the large move in BRL and a positive retail sales report. As such USDMXN near 1% off yesterday's lows and may struggle to break out of most recent range of 19.90-20.30 with the Fed Decision and press conference later today.


Mexico's Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell says President AMLO was still experiencing minor symptoms of COVID-19, but overall, was "doing well".


1,743 additional fatalities reported yesterday with the government adding the real number of infected people is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases.
